Brooklyn Pride is celebrating its thirtieth year in 2026, a testament in the celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in Brooklyn. One of the signature events, the Brooklyn Pride Twilight Parade, has grown in size and popularity with each passing year. Given that this year is a milestone year for the event, we expect that this will be no different.
SCHOOLS AND YOUTH GROUP NOTE: One of the areas in which Brooklyn Pride has seen increased interest is with school and youth groups that would like to participate in the Twilight Parade. We absolutely love the energy that these groups bring to the event and are heartened by their presence, giving us hope for the future. However, this presents our organization with serious challenges, as we must ensure that we have all types of groups represented, recognize the space limitations with respect to holding areas and the overall duration of the parade itself. Furthermore, we must concern ourselves with the safety of all participants due to the parade’s later start time.
Due to these factors, the Brooklyn Pride Board of Directors has decided to approach this year’s selection of school and youth groups through a lottery drawing. This will allow for all groups that would like to be considered for inclusion a fair opportunity. Any group that is predominantly comprised marchers under the age of 18 will be selected through this process.
In order to be entered into the lottery, groups must complete the Parade application that is available through the Brooklyn Pride website by May 1, 2026. If the application is not received by this date, they will not be considered for selection. The Brooklyn Pride Parade Committee will conduct the drawing of selected organizations the week of May 3, 2026, and will notify each organization no later than May 8, 2026. Selected organizations will have until May 15, 2026, to accept or decline their invitation to participate. Should a selected organization decline their invitation, or fail to respond,
Brooklyn Pride will select additional organizations until all spots are filled.
We hope that you will understand the situation Brooklyn Pride must and will address as fairly as possible. We also would ask that you share this with colleagues that may be interested in participating in this year's parade.

Summer is officially over. The days are getting shorter, the weather is becoming cooler, the leaves are changing, and before you know it, the holiday season will be upon us. It also means that we’re that much closer to celebrating Brooklyn Pride in 2026. And because it will be our THIRTIETH year of festivities, we want to make it the biggest that we’ve ever done.
We hosted the Brooklyn Pride House Party, a fundraiser to benefit our mission of putting on one of the best Pride events in the five boroughs, on November 14 at Farm to People, a gorgeous space with a mission to physically nourish our community with locally sourced food. Everyone enjoyed an evening of getting together, devouring tasty food, taking in some dazzling entertainment, and winning some amazing prizes!
THE FUN DOESN’T STOP THERE
While you missed out on some of the extraordinary raffle prizes that we had at the House Party, we’re very excited to be able to offer an online silent auction featuring gorgeous art, breathtaking trips, and even an opportunity to be a Brooklyn Pride 2026 VIP! Take a look below to put in your bids for the items. The auction will remain open until November 30 (Sunday) at 11:59PM, so get your bids in now!
You can also visit the online auction site on Zeffy, an online platform that allows nonprofits like Brooklyn Pride to offer fundraising tools without charging any fees. If you have any questions about the online auction or using the auction site, please reach out to Kyle at kyle@brooklynpride.org for assistance.

P.S. You might be asking yourself, “Wait a minute. Didn’t Brooklyn Pride just have a fundraiser in August?”
Well, we decided that due to a number of factors, such as the conflict with Jersey City Pride, to postpone that event. The Brooklyn Pride House Party represented the newly rescheduled event.
Due to the busy summer schedules, the Brooklyn Pride Board has decided to postpone the fundraiser. Details about a rescheduled event will be released in the near future.
Summer always starts off with a bang. We have so much fun reveling in the vibrancy of our community in June with Pride Month, and then… that’s it? Where’s the fun in that? Well, we want to change that. We want to give the people something to look forward to, something that says that the celebration’s not over until we say so.
Brooklyn Pride invites you to the Easy Breezy Summer Happy Hour, a fundraiser to benefit our mission of putting on the BEST Pride events in the five boroughs. In case you were not aware, our amazing organization will be producing the THIRTIETH Brooklyn Pride in 2026. We want to make next year’s week-plus of events the biggest that we’ve ever done.
Join us on August 23 from 3-6PM at Farm to People in Bushwick, a gorgeous space with a mission to physically nourish our community with locally sourced food. You’ll get the chance to close out the season with an afternoon getting together, swapping summer stories, enjoying some tasty food and beverages, taking in some dazzling entertainment, and, if you’re lucky, even winning some prizes?
