“Together We Will…” Outdoor Art Exhibition

Brooklyn Pride is joining Arts Gowanus and Old Stone House in presenting “Together We Will…” , a public outdoor art exhibition celebrating Brooklyn’s LGBTQIA+ Community.

The exhibit features artwork (selected from an open call during the month of April) by emerging and established Brooklyn-based LGBTQIA+ artists working in various styles and media. The works depict and celebrate different aspects of the LGBTQIA+ experience and community.

All works are printed on vinyl banners displayed on the fence surrounding The Old Stone House & Washington Park and J.J. Byrne Playground in Park Slope from June 1 – August 31, 2023.

Ty McKinnie is an American singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist from Atlanta, Georgia. He started writing music in college, uploaded songs to SoundCloud, and posted covers on YouTube. Ty moved to New York City to pursue his singing career and enrolled in NYU’s music business program. Moving to New York wasn’t easy. As adversities struck, songwriting music became more of a therapeutic escape, resulting into two EPs that spawned his signature style with hit songs such as “Mutual” and “Chill.” Ty also worked on his live chops by performing in iconic venues around New York City (Rockwood Music Hall, the Cutting Room, etc).

Byrne Park, 5th Ave. between 3rd & 4th Streets, we will have our Family Fun Zone that features family activities, music, face painting, arts & crafts, story-time, and more!

This year, the film will be Sing, beginning with pre-show entertainment. Gotham Cheer will teach us to bring out our Brooklyn Pride spirit and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM) will lead Movie Tunes Singalong for the whole family.
